Awarded for actions during the Civil War

The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Corporal Andrew Bringle, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 6 April 1865, while serving with Company F, 10th New York Cavalry (Porter Guard), in action at Deatonsville (Sailor's Creek), Virginia. Corporal Bringle charged the enemy and assisted Sergeant Norton in capturing a fieldpiece and two prisoners.
