James E. Cartwright

James Cartwright entered military service after graduating from the University of Iowa in 1971. On August 31, 2007, he was sworn in as the eight Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and on March 18, 2009 was nominated to a second term in that position.
