Making Rank Faster

Sailors with degrees move up at a much higher clip than their peers, new advancement statistics show. This chart compares the advancements of those with and without higher education degrees in the spring 2014 advancement cycle. The "overall rating" column shows advancement results for the total eligible in each rating, E-4 to E-6. The "candidates with education points" column shows the results for the eligible sailors in that rating who reported having a degree, from an associate or bachelor's to a master's or doctorate. In some cases, these degree holding sailors advanced due to the education points toward their advancement, which is reflected in the "advanced due to education points" column.
