Army Sgt. Brian L. Walker

Died May 13, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom


25, of Lucerne Valley, Calif.; assigned to 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska; died May 13, in Bowri Tana, Afghanistan, of injuries caused by an improvised explosive device. Also killed was Army Pfc. Richard L. McNulty III.

ARLINGTON, Va. — A military police officer killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan is being laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.

Funeral services for 25-year-old Army Sgt. Brian L. Walker will be held Wednesday. Walker, of Lucerne Valley, Calif. He was one of two military policemen who died in Afghanistan in May 2012 when a vehicle he was commanding hit a roadside bomb.

Three other soldiers were wounded when the vehicle hit the bomb in Khost Province, Afghanistan.

Walker joined the Army in August 2007 and was assigned to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska. He previously served in Afghanistan for a year.
